Divya, M.P.

Dr.M.P.Divya belongs to the first batch of B.Sc (Forestry) of Forest College and Research Institute, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Mettupalayam. She did her B.Sc in 1985-89, M.Sc in 1989-91 and Ph.D in 1992-1995.She joined as Assistant Professor of Forestry in FC&RI, Mettupalayam during 1995. Presently, she is an Associate Professor (Forestry) in the Department of Agroforestry, Forest College and Research Institute, Mettupalayam. She has published 27 research articles in reputed National and International journals ,75 research papers in various National and International seminars and symposiums , 3 technical bulletin, 1 book and 10 popular articles. The Science City, Govt. of Tamil Nadu awarded this “Tamil Nadu Young Women Scientist Award 2006”(Agricultural Sciences) to Dr.M.P.Divya. The Honorable Minister for Higher Education, Government of Tamil Nadu distributed the award on 19.04.2007 at the Science City Auditorium, Planetarium Campus, Chennai. She received this award for her research contribution in the field of Agroforestry for the last 10 years. She has also received “Dr.Venkataraman Medal for the Best Student in Ph.D in Forestry” in 1997 and the “Best Scientist in Agroforestry” for the year 2001 by the TNAU. She also received the “Best Environmental Management Award” for the year 2003 by the Department of Environment, Government of Tamil Nadu. Currently, she is working on “Tree Borne Oil seeds based agroforestry system and Agroforestry based integrated farming system” under All India Co-ordinated Research Project on Agroforestry, sponsored by ICAR, New Delhi.
