The Editorial Board is thus inviting Academic and Research Institutions and Development Partners to contribute brief articles (1500 words or 3 pages).

Nature & Faune is a peer-reviewed open access international bilingual (English and French) publication of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization’s Regional Office for Africa. The aim of this flagship publication is to disseminate information (scientific and technical knowledge) and to promote the exchange of experiences on food security, forestry, wildlife, protected area management and the sustainable use and conservation of natural resources in Africa.  Current and past issues are on our website:   http://www.fao.org/africa/resources/nature-faune/en/

We are looking for articles that explore one or more sub-themes including:

  • Forests for socio-economic development and food security
  • Building resilience with forests
  • Integrating forests and other land uses
  • Encouraging product innovation and sustainable trade
  • Monitoring forests for better decision-making
  • Improving governance by building capacity toward sustainable forest management
  •

Cognizant of the main areas of research & branches of learning in many research and academic institutions in Africa which include management of natural resources (forests, wildlife, water, land) and related fields, we are  optimistic that they will be interested in contributing articles to the upcoming edition. Co-authored articles are also of interest. The call for papers in English and French are attached.
