Theme:
The Contribution of Forests to Ghana’s Economic Development

Objective
The overall goal of the conference is to highlight the role of forests and woodlands on livelihoods, environmental management and economic development in the country and the expected future contribution in the light of current challenges. This conference is being held to commemorate 100 years of forestry practice and 50 years of forestry research in Ghana.

Organisation
The conference is being organized jointly by the Forestry Commission (FC), CSIR-Forestry Research Institute of Ghana (FORIG), College of Agriculture Natural Resources (CANR), KNUST and Tropenbos International Ghana with support from Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources (MLNR), Ministry of Environment, Science Technology and Innovations (MESTI), Ghana Timber Millers Organisation (GTMO), Ghana Timber Association (GTA) and Furniture and Wood Workers Association of Ghana (FAWAG).

Registration
Deadline for registration to participate in the conference is 31 July 2014.

Call For Abstracts
Abstracts should include:
Full names, addresses of authors and email address of corresponding author. Abstract should relate to one of the thematic areas of the conference. Please indicate in the message accompanying the abstract whether you would prefer either oral or poster presentation and the thematic area that is closely related to the topic of your abstract.
